Donna Nelson responded by thanking Jack Haley for locating the Chicago Central and Pacific Railroad Corporate Headquarters in the now Chicago Central Building on the corner of East 4th and Sycamore. Jack Haley responded that the railroad would continue to be successful and he was very happy to be located in the building. Mayor McKinley then presented Roger Bleeker with a letter of recognition regarding Bleeker's outstanding commitment to the community and his response to the needy. Mayor McKinley then read a letter of recognition to the Society for the Preservation & Encouragement of Barber Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (Black Hawk Metro Barber Shop Chorus), who will be representing 5 state district at international competition. Ernie Sommerfelt, 2206 Temple, asked the Council to help control the dust problem on Birmingham and several other streets. The Mayor responded that they would look into the situation. Moved by Seeber, seconded by Wright to receive and place on file the proclamation, two letters of recommendation and the oral presentation and refer the oral presentation to the Street Department for further action.
