RESOLUTION NO. 2017-236 RESOLUTION APPROVING ASSESSMENT TO PROPERTY FOR WORK PERFORMED BY THE WATER WORKS. WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, did, as provided by law, notify by written notice the property owner of the premises described below to have the repairs completed and further damage prevented, and WHEREAS the roe owner failed to comply with the r , property rty p y oder of the Board of Water Works Trustees, as provided by law, and WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees proceeded to have the work done on the premises described below, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to comply with Ordinance No. 1118 of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees filed with the City Clerk on the 23rd day of March 2017, a report filing claim for the repairs and preventing further damage at the below described premises and same met all the requirements of the City ordinance and have been fully completed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the said report of the Board of Water Works Trustees be, and the same is hereby, approved. That the work was done under and by virtue hereby, accepted, and that the cost of said work is hereby determined to be as follows, which amount can be assessed over a ten-year period against the property: Brian J. Cosgrove, Owner 1112 Amherst Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa Legal Description: Lot No. Twenty(20) in Block No. Six (6) in Golden Gardens Addition, City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Unpaid Assessment: $741.75 David Lee Oltrogge 1221 West 6th Street, Waterloo, Iowa Legal Description: Lot No. Seven (7), and the South One-Half of Lot No. Six (6), all in Block No. One (1), in Pommer's Subdivision to City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Unpaid Assessment: $1,179.37 Joel D. Lindaman 212 Lafayette Street Legal Description: Southeasterly 70 feet of Lots Nos. 2 and 3 in Block No. 10 in the Original Plat on the East side of the Cedar River, in the City of Waterloo,Black Hawk County, Iowa. Resolution No. 2017-236 Page 2 Unpaid Assessment: $5,159.99 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be, and are hereby assessed and levied a special tax and assessment against the property improved in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, said assessment shall bear interest from the date of levy of the assessment, viz: April 3, 2017, at the rate of nine (9) percent per annum until paid on all the unpaid amount of this assessment certified to the County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Ci Clerk be , and she is hereby instructed to City Y notify the above described property owners of said property, accordingly and also instructed to certify said assessment to the County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, to be entered upon the tax list to be collected as other taxes, as provided by law, and when collected to be credited to the Water Works Fund of said City, and assessment to be made over a ten-year period.
