RESOLUTION NO. 2017-237
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST FROM SINGLESPEED
BREWING COMPANY IN COOPERATION WITH WATERLOO
CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU AND TREKMAN RACING
TO HOLD THE SINGLESPEED BEER MILE ON JUNE 10, 2017,
WITH ROAD CLOSURES ON PORTIONS OF COMMERCIAL,
CEDAR, 2ND AND 3RD STREETS AS WELL AS A CLOSURE OF
THE SINGLESPEED BREWING COMPANY PARKING LOT,
LOCATED AT 325 COMMERCIAL STREET.
WHEREAS, SingleSpeed Brewing Company, in conjunction with the Waterloo
Convention and Visitors Bureau and Trekman Racing has made a written application to the City
Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold a running event on June 10, 2017,
and
WHEREAS, said event will begin at 1:00 pm. and end at 4:00 p.m., with eight (8) heats,
twenty(20)minutes in length,with the following requested street closures:
Cedar Street from W. 3rd Street to W. 2nd Street
W 2nd Street from Cedar Street to Jefferson Street(but not Jefferson Street)
Commercial Street from W. 2nd Street to W. 3rd Street
W. 3rd Street from Jefferson Street to Cedar Street
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of SingleSpeed Brewing Company to hold its running
event on June 10, 2017 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m., starting and ending at the
SingleSpeed Brewing Company parking lot, located at 325 Commercial Street, is hereby
approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of April 2017.
