Members present: Morrissey, Powers, Lind, Amos, Schmitt, and Welper.
Absent: Jacobs
Moved by Welper seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Motion carried.
Review of the draft plumbing, electrical and HVAC ordinance changes.
Greg Alhelm, Interim Building Official, provided an overview of the proposed changes to the
plumbing, electrical, and HVAC ordinances.
Mr. Welper questioned how a homeowner could do their own work.
Greg Alhelm explained that a licensed plumber could help a resident if they are a fiiend or
relative. Homeowners have been allowed to pull their own plumbing permits for a long time.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director, commented that it is to help
avoid having a plumber do the work without pulling a permit.
Mr. Lind questioned if the proposed changes were vetted by stakeholders.
Greg Alhelm explained that it is based on changes made in November.
Mr. Morrissey questioned if further ordinance changes will come from his department.
Greg Alhelm explained that additional changes will not come out of his department.
Mr. Morrissey questioned if future changes will come from other areas of this code.
Noel Anderson explained that none are planned at this time but may come as part of
recodification.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Amos seconded by Schmitt that
the meeting be adjourned at 5:47 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
