RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST FROM JOHN DEERE
WATERLOO OPERATIONS TO HOLD ITS ANNUAL 5K RUN ON
SUNDAY, AUGUST 27TH, 2017 FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 10:00 A.M.,
STARTING AND FINISHING AT THE JOHN DEERE TRACTOR &
ENGINE MUSEUM, LOCATED AT 500 WESTFIELD AVE., WITH
BARRICADES AT WESTFIELD AVENUE AND W. COMMERCIAL
STREET, WESTFIELD AVENUE AND FLETCHER AVENUE, RIVER
ROAD/W. JEFFERSON STREET AND W. COMMERCIAL STREET,
AND W. JEFFERSON STREET AND WESTFIELD AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the John Deere Waterloo Operations 5K Committee has made a written
application to the City Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold its annual
event at the John Deere Tractor&Engine Museum on August 27, 2017, and
WHEREAS, said event will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 a.m. with the route
starting and ending at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum, located at 500 Westfield Ave.,
with barricades at Westfield Avenue and W. Commercial Street, Westfield Avenue and Fletcher
Avenue, River Road/W. Jefferson Street and W. Commercial Street, and W. Jefferson Street and
Westfield Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of John Deere Waterloo Operations 5K Committee to
hold its annual 5K Run/Walk on August 27, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 10:00
a.m., starting and ending at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum, located at 500 Westfield
Ave., with barricades at Westfield Avenue and W. Commercial Street, Westfield Avenue and
Fletcher Avenue, River Road/W. Jefferson Street and W. Commercial Street, and W. Jefferson
Street and Westfield Avenue, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22°d day of May 2017.
