RESOLUTION NO. 2011-918
RESOLUTION APPROVING LOU HENRY ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL (SRTS) GRANT
APPLICATION TO IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, AND AUTHORIZE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Engineering, Planning, and Traffic Operations
staff has identified the need for the following improvements :
1. Sidewalk infill along the west side of Hillcrest Road from
West Ridgeway Avenue to Hilltop Road.
2 . Sidewalk infill along the south side of West Park Lane from
Hillcrest Road to east of Colby Lane.
3. A new pedestrian ramp at the northwest corner of Colby Road
and West Park Road.
4 . Pedestrian signing improvements along this corridor; and
WHEREAS, fees for this project, for materials, engineering
design and construction review services are estimated to be
$85, 715 . 00 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the SRTS grant application of the
Lou Henry Elementary School is hereby approved and the Mayor and
City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September 2013 .
