RESOLUTION NO. 2011-914
RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING WITH IOWA NORTHLAND REGIONAL
COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS (INRCOG) , AT A
MAXIMUM COST OF $1, 500 . 00 FOR PREPARATION
AND SUBMITTAL OF A SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
(SRTS) GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE DR. WALTER
CUNNINGHAM SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE, AND
AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS .
WHEREAS, the Engineering, Planning, and Traffic Operations
staff have identified the need for the following improvements :
1 . Sidewalk infill along Mobile Street, between Webster and
Adams Streets .
2 . Sidewalk infill in the 700 block of Quincy.
3. New pedestrian ramps at the northeast corner of Mobile and
Newell Streets.
4 . Two new pedestrian ramps at Cottage and Mobile Streets.
5. Improved signing along Mobile Street; and
WHEREAS, engineering fees for materials and design and
construction review services are estimated to be $64, 860 . 00; and
WHEREAS, INRCOG has agreed to prepare and submit the SRTS
grant application for $1, 500 . 00, payable only if the grant
application is approved.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA, that the application of the Walter Cunningham School for
Excellence is hereby approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are
authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.
