RESOLUTION NO. 2011-912
RESOLUTION APPROVING DR. WALTER CUNNINGHAM
SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL
(SRTS) GRANT APPLICATION TO IOWA DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION, AND AUTHORIZE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Engineering, Planning, and Traffic Operations
staff have identified the need for the following improvements :
1 . Sidewalk infill along Mobile Street, between Webster and
Adams Streets .
2 . Sidewalk infill in the 700 block of Quincy.
3 . New pedestrian ramps at the northeast corner of Mobile and
Newell Streets .
4 . Two new pedestrian ramps at Cottage and Mobile Streets .
5. Improved signing along Mobile Street; and
WHEREAS, fees for materials, engineering design and
construction review services are estimated to be $64, 860 . 00 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the application of the Walter
Cunningham School for Excellence is hereby approved and the
Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the
same on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
