2012 IOWA SOLID STATE STREET LIGHTING
GRANT APPLICATION
Participant must be an Iowa electric governmental customer of MidAmerican Energy Company. MidAmerican Energy has an
annual budget of $50,000 for grants for Iowa solid state street lighting projects. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served
basis.
® The maximum grant amount is $5,000 per project; participation guidelines follow.
1. Roadway style fixtures only - pedestrian sidewalk fixtures do not qualify.
2. Minimum project size for the full $5,000 grant is 20 fixtures (smaller projects will receive a $250 per -fixture grant).
3. Light -emitting diode and induction types of solid state lighting (SSL) qualify.
4. Per Iowa Administrative Code Section 36.8(3)e, fixtures must have an efficiency rating equal to or greater than 66 lumens
per watt as tested under Illuminating Engineering Society of North America LM -79-08 testing to qualify for a grant.
5. Lighting must be separately metered.
6. Applicant must provide a print of the proposed installation.
7. MidAmerican Energy reserves the right to publish a case study about the SSL project.
