RESOLUTION NO. 2017-407
RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST OF FRIENDS OF
HEAL THE FAMILY FOR A VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE ON AUGUST 19, 2017 FROM 11:00 A.M. TO
4:00 P.M., IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TAKE BACK OUR
COMMUNITY EVENT TO BE HELD AT SULLIVAN PARK,
INCLUDING THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM, TOGETHER WITH
THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CAPTAIN OF POLICE
SERVICES.
WHEREAS, Friends of Heal the Family is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance
on August 19, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in conjunction with the Take Back Our
Community event to be held at Sullivan Park, including the use of a PA system, together with
recommendation and approval of the Captain of Police Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Ordinance No. 3094, Noise
Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Friends of Heal the Family for a variance to the Noise
Ordinance on August 19, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in conjunction with the Take Back
Our Community event to be held at Sullivan Park, including use of a PA system, is hereby
granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June 2017.
