The Board of Regents, State of Iowa (BOR) desires to renew the lease at 800 Sycamore Street,
Waterloo, Iowa. The lease is for the use and benefit of the University of Northern Iowa.
Currently, the University of Northern Iowa Center for Urban Education (UNI -CUE) is using and
occupying the property. The lease was signed in 2001, and the initial term is August 21, 2001
through August 20, 2011.
Pursuant to Paragraph 25, the BOR is hereby providing its written intent to renew the lease for
the first of two possible five (5) year extensions. As a result, the term of the lease shall extend
from August 21, 2011 through August 20, 2016. The remainder of the terms and conditions of
the lease shall remain in effect, including the rental amount and the option to renew for an
additional extension period of five years.
Please acknowledge your understanding, acknowledgement, and acceptance of this action to
renew/extend the lease by signing and returning a copy of this letter at your earliest
convenience.
We have appreciated our relationship with you and others with the City of Waterloo, and look
forward to continued cooperation and mutual benefit from this lease arrangement. Should you
