RESOLUTION NO. 2015-259
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF JIM HAMLYN OF
WATERLOO FOR A VARIANCE TO ORDINANCE NO.
3094, NOISE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, Jim Hamlyn of Waterloo is requesting a variance to
the Noise Ordinance on September 18, 2015, at approximately 4 : 00
p.m. and 5 : 00 p.m. at Washington Park, for a (21) Gun Salute/Taps
by a veterans group (American Legion/Amvets) for the West High
School Class of 1965 (50) Year Class tribute for FALLEN HEROES,
each should last approximately 10 minutes, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Ordinance
No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, said Jim Hamlyn of Waterloo has made formal
application for a variance effective September 18, 2015, from
4 : 00 p.m. to 5 : 10 p.m. , together with recommendation and approval
of the Director of Safety Services .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Jim Hamlyn of Waterloo for a
variance to Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, on September 18,
2015, from 4 : 00 p.m. to 5 : 10 p.m. , for a (21) Gun Salute/Taps by a
veterans group (American Legion/Amvets) for the West High School
Class of 1965 (50) Year Class tribute for FALLEN HEROES, each
should last approximately 10 minutes, be and the same hereby
granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 2015 .
