RESOLUTION NO. 2017-488
REQUEST OF CROSSROADS COMMUNITY CHURCH OF
THE NAZARENE FOR A VARIANCE TO THE NOISE
ORDINANCE ON AUGUST 26, 2017 FROM 10:30 A.M. TO
3:30 P.M. IN CONJUNCTION WITH A COMMUNITY BLOCK
PARTY EVENT TO BE HELD IN THE PARKING LOT OF 3622
HAMMOND AVENUE WITH THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Church of the Nazarene, together with recommendation and approval of the
Captain of Police Services, is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on August 26, 2017
from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of 3622 Hammond Avenue, in conjunction with a
Community Block Party, including use of a PA system, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Ordinance No. 3094, Noise
Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Church of the Nazarene for a variance to Ordinance
No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, in conjunction with a Community Block Party to be held in the
parking lot of 3622 Hammond Avenue, on August 26, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., be
hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of June 2017.
