M. on January 2, 1968, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall to an Orga- nization Meeting. Mayor -elect Lloyd L Turner in the Chair and called the meeting to order., Present: Councilmen -elect Irvin J. Schmit, Trueman Miller, Charles H. Dykeman, Robert E Keller, Norman F Cohea and Robert Cavanaugh Absent: None:. Judge William Parker administered the Oath of Office to Mayor -elect Lloyd L Turner, Irvin J. Schmit, Councilman -at -Large, East Trueman Miller, Councilman -at -Large, West Charles H. Dykeman, First Ward Councilman Robert E Keller, Second Ward Councilman Norman F. Cohea, Third Ward Councilman Robert Cavanaugh, Fourth Ward Councilman Mayor Turner then requested Rev, Earl A, Huebner, President of Black Hawk Coun- cil of Churches and Associate Pastor of Westminister Presbyterian Church, to offer the invocation., 53683 - Moved by Schmit, seconded by Miller that the communication from Mayor Turner, submitting the name of James R. Wilson for re -appointment as City Clerk and Auditor of the City of Waterloo for the Years 1968 and 1969, be received, placed on file and James R Wilson re -appointed City Clerk and Aucfitor for said Years,. On roll call, Cavanaugh, Cohea, Dykeman, Keller, Miller and Schmit voted Aye. Nay: None. Absent: None. Mayor declared the motion car- ried. Mayor Turner then administered the Oath of Office to James R. Wilson, City Clerk and Auditor., 53684 - Moved by Miller, seconded by Keller that the bond of Mayor Lloyd L. Turner, in the amount of $500.00, with the Northwestern National In- surance Group, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as Surety, be received, placed on file and approved_ Motion carried. 53685 - Moved by Keller, seconded by Schmit that the communication from Mayor Turner recommending Council approval of the appointment of Trueman Miller as Mayor Pro Tem for the Years 1968 and 1969, be received, plac- ed on file, and Councilman Trueman Miller appointed Mayor Pro Tem for said Years. On roll call, Cavanaugh, Cohea, Dykeman, Keller, Miller and Schmit voted Aye. Nay: None. Absent: None. Mayor declared the motion car- ried. - 2 - 53686 - Moved by Dykeman, seconded by Cohea that the Report of Mayor Turner, advising that he was re -appointing Robert S. Wright, as Chief of Police Harold L. Smith, as Chief of Fire Department, and Carl C. Fagerlind, as Street Commissioner, for the Years 1968 and 1969, be received and placed on file. Motion carried, 53687 - Moved by Schmit, seconded by Miller that the communication from Mayor Turner, recommending Council approval of the re -appointment of Henry W. Wenthe as City Treasurer of the City of Waterloo for the Years 1968 and 1969, be received, placed on file, and Henry W. Wenthe re -appointed City Treasurer for said Years. On roll call, Cavanaugh, Cohea, Dykeman, Keller, Miller and Schmit voted Aye. Nay: None. Absent: None, Mayor declared the motion carried. 53688 - Moved by Miller, seconded by Cohea that the communication from Mayor Turner submitting for Council approval the re -appointment Cf the fol- lowing to offices as designated for the years 1968 and 1969: Ernest Haupt Dr. F. Motion carried. 53691 - Moved by Keller, seconded by Cohea that the bonds of James R. Wilson, City Clerk & Auditor and Henry W. Wenthe, City Treasurer, both in the amounts of $10,000.00, and a Blanket Bond in the amount of $5,000.00 covering all classes of City Employees, excluding Police, Fire, Air- port Commission, and Waterworks Department, with the Northwestern Na- tional Insurance Group, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as Surety, be received, placed on file and approved.
