Mr. Berckes:
The City of Waterloo fully supports the Watershed Management Authority Grant
application submitted by Black Hawk County. We intend to be active partners in the
development of the authority should the application be funded. The formation of
such a group would be extremely beneficial to the City of Waterloo by serving to
create new opportunities for communication and collaboration in watershed
assessment and planning activities. Cooperation amongst the multiple political
entities, which have authority over these watersheds, would allow for more effective
implementation of best management practices for both flood mitigation and water
quality.
