RESOLUTION NO. 2017-585 REQUEST FOR VARIANCE TO NOISE ORDINANCE ON JULY 29, 2017 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 12:00 P.M. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE COMMUNITY BUILDING RALLY-INDIVISIBLE/WOMEN'S MARCH - "OUR LIVES ARE ON THE LINE" EVENT, TO BE HELD AT LINCOLN PARK, INCLUDING THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM, TOGETHER WITH RECOMMENDATION OF APPROVAL OF CAPTAIN OF POLICE SERVICES. WHEREAS, Sherry Kiskeinas, Liz Conklin, and Chris Schwartz are requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on July 29, 2017, in conjunction with the Community Building Rally- Indivisible/Women's March - "Our Lives are on the Line" event to be held in Lincoln Park, including the use of a PA system, together with the recommendation and approval of the Captain of Police Services, and WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094,Noise Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Sherry Kiskeinas, Liz Conklin, and Chris Schwartz for a variance to the Noise Ordinance, on July 29, 2017, in conjunction with the Community Building Rally-Indivisible/Women's March - "Our Lives are on the Line" event to be held in Lincoln Park, including the use of a PA system, is hereby approved.
