Members present: Morrissey, Schmitt, and Welper.
Moved by Welper seconded by Morrissey that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Voice -
vote Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper seconded by Morrissey that Central Garage Request for Proposals be
approved. Voice vote -Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Adrienne Miller, City Planner, provided an overview of bids received for the former Central
Garage building.
Mr. Welper questioned the minimum bid amount.
Adrienne Miller explained the minimum bid amount was reduced to accommodate needed
repairs.
Mr. Welper explained that he recommends selling to Tim Skarlis based on his amount and
intended use for the facility.
Mr. Morrissey seconded the motion to accept the bid from Mr. Skarlis.
Mr. Schmitt questioned if this was in conjunction with the home improvements business as
opposed to his car business.
Adrienne Miller explained there was no mention of an automotive aspect during discussions.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the value of the property.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director, explained that the proposal
would be reviewed with the County Assessor and that a development agreement would be
assembled as well.
Mr. Schmitt questioned if a generator was removed from the building.
Noel Anderson explained that the generator remained.
Mr. Welper commented that nothing is in the building.
Mr. Schmitt commented that the generator was behind the building.
Noel Anderson commented that was the generator considered for the Library but it remains
behind this building.
Mr. Morrissey commented they anticipated generating ten jobs with this business.
Mr. Lind commented that the individual who made the bid would have purchased the business
two years ago at the same or higher price and the City needs to sell these properties sooner.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Welper seconded by Morrissey
that the meeting be adjourned at 4:50 p.m. Voice -vote Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
