Members present: Jones and Morrissey. Absent: Schmitt (arrived at 3:56).
Moved by Morrissey, seconded by Jones that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Two. Motion carried.
Moved by Morrissey, seconded by Jones to authorize request by American Pattern & Storage for
interest in former Food Bank building for future project. Ayes: Two. Motion carried.
Mr. Morrissey questioned the cost of the dumpster and confirmed that the interested party
demolish the interior of the building and they would like the first right to rent the building.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director, reported that the City has not
decided what to do with the site in the future. The proposal is to rent it for three years and clear
out the space to make it more appealing. This is a three year lease. The rate is proposed by
American Pattern & Storage and includes them doing the demolition at a value of approximately
$45,000.
Mr. Jones confirmed the rental rate and what it includes. Would the tenant be responsible for the
property taxes?
Mr. Morrissey questioned that the rent proceeds would go to the city and would they be able to
sublease the property and they confirmed.
Mr. Anderson, responded that they would not be able to sublease and would be responsible for
any property taxes levied against the property.
Moved by Jones, seconded by Morrissey to authorize request by American Pattern & Storage for
interest in former Food Bank building for future project. Ayes: Two. Motion carried.
Moved by Jones, seconded by Morrissey to authorize request by Jim Chizek to rent
approximately 196 square feet or 14' x 14' square feet of storage space for $140 per month with
utilities included, located at 1112 Sycamore (former Black Hawk Sprinkler Building). Ayes:
Two. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Morrissey, seconded by Jones that
the meeting be adjourned at 3:56 p.m. Ayes: Two. Motion carried.
