RESOLUTION NO. 2017-607
RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST OF THE BUILD OUR
BALLPARK FOUNDATION IN COOPERATION WITH THE
CEDAR VALLEY SPORTSPLEX TO HOLD ITS ANNUAL
KIDS RACE AND 5K FUNDRAISER ON AUGUST 12, 2017
FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 10:00 A.M.; COMMENCING AT THE
CEDAR VALLEY SPORTSPLEX AND CONCLUDING AT THE
INTERSECTION OF WESTFIELD AVENUE AND HIGHWAY
63, AND APPROVING BARRICADES AND TRAFFIC
CONTROL.
WHEREAS, the Build our Ballpark Foundation in cooperation with the Cedar Valley
Sportsplex made a written application to the City Council asking that they be authorized and
permitted to hold its Annual Kids Race and 5K fundraiser on August 12, 2017, and
WHEREAS, said event will begin at 8:00 a.m., with the route commencing at the Cedar
Valley Sportsplex and concluding at the intersection of Westfield Avenue and Highway 63 at
10:00 a.m., with barricades for traffic control on Commercial Street, Westfield Avenue and River
Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the Build our Ballpark Foundation in cooperation with
the Cedar Valley Sportsplex to hold its Annual Kids Race and 5K fundraiser on August 12, 2017
beginning at 8:00 a.m., with the route commencing at the Cedar Valley Sportsplex and
concluding at the intersection of Westfield Avenue and Highway 63 at 10:00 a.m., is hereby
approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of August 2017.
