RESOLUTION NO. 2017-645
REQUEST OF GROUT MUSEUM DISTRICT TO HOLD THE
11TH ANNUAL SULLIVAN BROTHERS MEMORIAL 5/10 K
RACE ON OCTOBER 21, 2017 FROM 8:00 A.M. TO NOON,
COMMENCING AND CONCLUDING IN THE AREA OF PARK
AVENUE AND JEFFERSON STREET, WITH THE ROUTE
PRIMARILY ON THE CEDAR VALLEY LAKES AND SOUTH
RIVERSIDE TRAILS.
WHEREAS, Grout Museum District made a written application to the City Council
asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold the 11th annual Sullivan Brothers Memorial
5/10 K Race event on October 21, 2017, with the route primarily on the Cedar Valley Lakes and
South Riverside Trails,together with the approval of the Director of Safety Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will begin at 8:00 a.m. to noon, with the route commencing and
concluding in the area of Park Avenue and Jefferson Street with barricades for traffic control on
Park Avenue, Cedar Street, Water Street, W. Commercial Street and River Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Grout Museum District to hold the 11th annual Sullivan
Brothers Memorial 5/10 K Race event on October 21, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m. to noon with
the route commencing and concluding in the area of Park Avenue and Jefferson Street, with the
route primarily on the Cedar Valley Lakes and South Riverside Trails, with barricades on Park
Avenue, Cedar Street, Water Street, W. Commercial Street and River Road, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of August 2017.
