RESOLUTION NO. 2017-646
REQUEST FROM MAIN STREET WATERLOO AND THE
WATERLOO COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO HOLD THE
19TH ANNUAL MAYOR'S FUN RUN EVENT ON SEPTEMBER
19, 2017 FROM 9:30 A.M. TO 12:00 NOON AT THE EXPO
GROUNDS AND DOWNTOWN STREETS.
WHEREAS, Main Street Waterloo and the Waterloo Community School District made a
written application to the City Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold the
19th Annual Mayor's Fun Run event on September 19, 2017, together with the approval of the
Director of Safety Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon, with the route
commencing and concluding at the Expo Center, with barricades for traffic control on Park
Avenue, Lafayette Street, W. 5th Street and Jefferson Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Main Street Waterloo and the Waterloo Community
School District to hold the 19th Annual Mayor's Fun Run event on September 19, 2017 beginning
at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 12:00 noon, with the route commencing at the Expo Center grounds,
continuing north on Park Avenue to Lafayette Street, east on Lafayette Street to W. 5th Street,
south on W. 5th Street to Jefferson Street and west on Jefferson Street to the Expo Center
grounds, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of August 2017.
