RESOLUTION NO. 2017-647
REQUEST OF IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
FOR A VARIANCE TO THE NOISE ORDINANCE FROM
SEPTEMBER 1, 2017 TO JULY 1, 2018 FOR NIGHT TIME
CONSTRUCTION WORK ALONG NORTHBOUND U.S. 218
FROM THE U.S. 63 INTERCHANGE TO THE GREENHILL
ROAD INTERCHANGE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
CONSTRUCTION OF DOT PROJECT NHSN-218-7(236)--2R-07.
WHEREAS,the Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting a variance to the Noise
Ordinance from September 1, 2017 through July 1, 2018, for night time construction work, in
conjunction with DOT project NHSN-218-7(236)--2R-07, along northbound U.S. 218 from the
U.S. 63 interchange, to the Greenhill Road interchange,together with recommendation and
approval of the Captain of Police Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094,Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,that the request of the Iowa Department of Transportation for a variance
to the Noise Ordinance from September 1, 2017 through July 1, 2018, for night time construction
work, in conjunction with DOT project NHSN-218-7(236)--2R-07, along northbound U.S. 218
from the U.S. 63 interchange, to the Greenhill Road interchange, is hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21"day of August 2017.
