Members present: Chairperson Welper, Cole, Jones, Schmitt, Lind, and Morrissey. Absent:
Hart.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Six. Motion carried.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey that request from Public Works Director for
authorization to make an appointment to Equipment Operator I from a current Civil Service list,
be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
Mark Rice, Public Works Director, explained the necessity of this position.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey that request Public Works Director for authorization
to begin the recruitment process for Central Garage Mechanic Foreman and make an appointment,
be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
Mark Rice, Public Works Director, explained the necessity of the new position. At this time the
position will be a promotion and will not be backfilled. This will be a working foreman position
Moved by Cole, seconded by Morrissey that request from Waste Management Services
Superintendent for authorization to begin the recruitment process for Plant Maintenance Mechanic
and make an appointment, be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the salary for the position.
Larry Smith, Waste Management Superintendent, explained the necessity of this position and the
salary structure.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Schmitt, seconded by
Morrissey that the meeting be adjourned at 4:59 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
