Members present: Chairperson Welper, Hart, Jones, Schmitt, Lind, and Morrissey. Absent:
Cole.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Hart that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Motion carried.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey that request for authorization to make an appointment
to Park Maintenance II -Forestry from a current Civil Service list from a current Civil Service list,
be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director, explained that this is to replace a probationary employee
who is no longer employed by the City.
Moved by Lind, seconded by Morrissey that request for authorization to change the current part
time Assistant City Attorney position to a full time City Attorney position effective 1/112015, be
approved. Ayes: Four. Nays: Two (Schmitt, Lind). Motion carried.
Mr. Schmitt is not in support of the change without an opportunity for research, but it does not
have anything to do with Mr. Zellhoefer.
Mr. Hart expressed the same concern and asked to see a plan for who will be responsible for
what responsibilities.
City Attorney Jim Walsh explained that Mr. Zellhoefer has been in this position for more than
20+ years and like myself will not handle all of the cities counsel, we will still need to pursue
other professional's opinions as we have done in the past and that will continue with whomever
is City Attorney
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Schmitt, seconded by Hart that
the meeting be adjourned at 5:04 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
