RESOLUTION NO. 2017-700
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROPOSED REPAIRS TO
SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, UNDER
THE 2018 SIDEWALK INSPECTION AND REPAIR
PROGRAM—ZONE 7.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That after public hearing on August 28, 2017, notice having been given as
required by law, it is deemed necessary and advisable that the sidewalks and/or portions of
sidewalks for an area known as Zone 7,be inspected and improved by repairing the same.
Section 2. That the repair of said improvements will be the responsibility of the owner
of the property abutting the sidewalk so designated by the City Engineer as needing repair.
Section 3. That said inspection shall be completed by the City Engineer of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa.
Section 4. That the City of Waterloo will contract repair work through a bonded
contractor for work not completed by the property owner and deemed by the inspector as
needing repair, and an accurate itemized account of all the costs and expenses thereof shall be
made to this Council upon completion of said work.
Section 5. That the cost and expense to the City of Waterloo, for making said
improvements, will be assessed, as provided by law, as a special tax against all property
abutting sidewalks and/or portions thereof so improved.
