This event has been held in the past. The police department recommends approval of this request. Participating youth are not first -timers to the sport, but have received previous instruction to prepare them for this experience. The shooting range at the site is located in an area that will not pose a threat to the safety of others. Tom Sage, Certified Program Coordinator for the Shooting Sports 4-H Club, will be teaching 4 -Hers the safe and responsible use of firearms, including sound decision-making, self-discipline and concentration. It also promotes sportsmanship and ethical behavior, as well as exposing youth to a valuable lifelong recreational activity. Youth will engage in numerous safety precautions. Youth may not bring ammunition and are given ammunition (pellets) only when at the firing line. If youth bring firearms on premise, they must be checked and approved by Mr. Sage before using them. Rifles must display an orange safety line to show that the rifle is not loaded. All youth activities are under Mr. Sage's direct supervision. Thank you for considering our request.
