REQUEST OF SPLASH OF COLOR BREAST CANCER
SUPPORT GROUP FOR A VARIANCE TO THE NOISE
ORDINANCE NO. 3094, ON OCTOBER 14, 2017 FROM 6:30
A.M. TO 11:00 A.M. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 6TH
ANNUAL SPLASH OF COLOR 3K FUNDRAISER WALK
EVENT, BEGINNING AND ENDING AT SULLIVAN PARK
AND TRAVELING ON E. 4TH, SUMNER, MOBILE, AND
NEWELL STREETS, INCLUDING MUSIC AND THE USE OF
A BULLHORN, TOGETHER WITH RECOMMENDATION OF
APPROVAL OF CAPTAIN OF POLICE SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the Splash of Color Breast Cancer Support Group is requesting a variance to
the Noise Ordinance on October 14, 2017, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in conjunction with the
6th Annual Splash of Color 3K Fundraiser Walk event, beginning and ending at Sullivan Park
and traveling on E. 4th, Sumner, Mobile, and Newell Streets, including music and the use of a
bullhorn, together with recommendation of approval of Captain of Police Service, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance,
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,that the request of the Splash of Color Breast Cancer Support Group for a
variance to the Noise Ordinance, on October 14, 2017, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in
conjunction with the 6th Annual Splash of Color 3K Fundraiser Walk event, beginning and
ending at Sullivan Park and traveling on E. 4th, Sumner, Mobile, and Newell Streets, including
music and the use of a bullhorn,be granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of September 2017.
