RESOLUTION NO. 2017-800
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST OF TYSON
FRESH MEATS, INC. FOR INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY TAX
EXEMPTIONS ON THE EXPANSION FOR PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 501 N. ELK RUN ROAD.
WHEREAS, Tyson Meats, Inc. has submitted an application dated September 13, 2017 to
the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, requesting to receive industrial property tax
exemptions for renovation and expansion of a commercial building, for the property located
at 501 N. Elk Run Road and legally described as follows:
ALL THAT PART OF NE 1/4 SEC 21 T 89 R 12 LYING SLY OF RR & EXC
RD, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA,
and,
WHEREAS, the Planning, Programming, and Zoning Commission staff has reviewed the
application and feels that the renovations qualify for exemptions from taxes on the actual value
added to the Industrial property under the Industrial Property Tax Exemption requirements, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application of Tyson Meats, Inc. is hereby approved and the City
Clerk is authorized and directed to forward said application, and a copy of this resolution to the
Black Hawk County Assessor.
