Members present: Morrissey, Amos, and Welper. Mr. Amos sat in for Mr. Schmitt.
Moved by Welper seconded by Amos that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Voice -vote
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper seconded by Amos that the request by Shay Trask to purchase two city owned
lots generally located adjacent to 1947 Rainbow Drive, be approved. Voice vote -Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Chris Western, City Planner, provided an overview of the property.
Shay Trask, explained that a family is looking to build a home on the vacant lot valued at up to
$220,000.
Mr. Welper questioned the square footage of the home.
Shay Trask explained that the home would have 700 square feet on the first and second floor and
500 square feet in the basement.
Mr. Morrissey questioned if someone is planning to move in.
Shay Trask confirmed.
Mr. Amos questioned if the creek near the property creates a flooding issue.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director, explained the drainage in the
area and noted that Engineering has conducted a study of the area of the required culvert sizes
for the area.
Mr. Lind questioned if it was purchased for roadway in the 1970s.
Noel Anderson explained that they will be researching this further by looking at deeds but
believe that it was purchased for drainage.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Welper seconded by Amos that the
meeting be adjourned at 5:03 p.m. Voice -vote Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
