RESOLUTION NO. 2017-760
RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMISSION OF GRANT
APPLICATION FOR AN IOWA CLEAN AIR ATTAINMENT
GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $491,250, TO INSTALL A
TRAFFIC ADAPTIVE SYSTEM ON ANSBOROUGH AVENUE
FROM RIDGEWAY AVENUE TO DOWNING AVENUE,
INCLUDING A FIBER OPTIC INTERCONNECT.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has requested permission to submit an
application for an Iowa Clean Air Attainment grant in the amount of$491,250, to install a traffic
adaptive system on Ansborough Avenue from Ridgeway Avenue to Downing Avenue, including
a fiber optic interconnect, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo is committed to adequately maintaining the completed
project for its intended public use following project completion, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo will provide the $98,250 match required for the
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the submission of the application for an Iowa Clean Air Attainment
grant in the amount of$491,250, with matching City funds in the amount of$98,250, to install a
traffic adaptive system on Ansborough Avenue from Ridgeway Avenue to Downing Avenue,
including a fiber optic interconnect, is hereby approved.
