RESOLUTION NO. 2017-803
RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMISSION OF GRANT
APPLICATION FOR AN IOWA CLEAN AIR ATTAINMENT
GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $907,000 TO INSTALL A
TRAFFIC ADAPTIVE SYSTEM ON BROADWAY STREET
FROM PARK ROAD TO AIRPORT BOULEVARD
INCLUDING FIBER OPTIC INTERCONNECT AND
AUTHORIZE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has requested permission to submit an
application for an Iowa Clean Air Attainment grant in the amount of$907,000, to install a traffic
adaptive system on Broadway Street from Park Road to Airport Boulevard, including a fiber
optic interconnect, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo is committed to adequately maintaining the completed
project for its intended public use following project completion, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo will provide the $226,832 match required for the
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the submission of the application for an Iowa Clean Air Attainment
grant in the amount of$907,000, with matching City funds in the amount of$226,832, to install
a traffic adaptive system on Broadway Street from Park Road to Airport Boulevard, including a
fiber optic interconnect, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of September 2017.
