RESOLUTION NO. 2017-838
RESOLUTION AWARDING THE ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
BID TO ECCO MIDWEST, INC. OF HASTINGS, MINNESOTA
FOR ASBESTOS ABATEMENT OF 1100 GRANT AVENUE IN
THE AMOUNT OF $6,500 AND REW SERVICES
CORPORATION OF DES MOINES, IOWA FOR ASBESTOS
ABATEMENT SERVICES AT 216-220 COMMERCIAL
STREET IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,270 AND APPROVING
THE CONTRACT, BOND, AND CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, ECCO Midwest, Inc. of Hastings, Minnesota submitted a bid in conjunction
with asbestos abatement services at 1100 Grant Avenue, in the amount of $6,500, and is the
apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, REW Services Corporation of Des Moines, Iowa submitted a bid in
conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 216-220 Commercial Street in the amount of
$28,270, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, ECCO Midwest, Inc. submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said projects with
Resolution No. 2017-836, after public hearing on October 9, 2017 in conjunction with asbestos
abatement services at 1100 Grant Avenue, and
WHEREAS, REW Services Corporation submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said projects
with Resolution No. 2017-836, after public hearing on October 9, 2017 in conjunction with
asbestos abatement services at 216-220 Commercial Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of ECCO Midwest, Inc. of Hastings, Minnesota, in the amount of$6,500, in
conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 1100 Grant Avenue, is hereby awarded.
2. That the bid of REW Services Corporation of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of
$28,270, in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 216-220 Commercial Street, is
hereby awarded.
3. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by ECCO Midwest, Inc., in
conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 1100 Grant Avenue, are hereby approved.
4. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by REW Services
Corporation, in conjunction with asbestos abatement Services at 216-220 Commercial Street, are
hereby approved.
5. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
