RESOLUTION NO. 2017-841
RESOLUTION AWARDING DEMOLITION SERVICES BID TO
FRICKSON BROS. EXCAVATING OF EVANSDALE,
IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,000 FOR DEMOLITION
SERVICES AT 222 WALNUT STREET AND LEHMAN
TRUCKING & EXCAVATING, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF
$28,630 FOR DEMOLITION SERVICES AT 216-220
COMMERCIAL STREET, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE,
AND INSTRUCT THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Frickson Bros. Excavating of Evansdale, Iowa submitted a bid in the
amount of$38,000, in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 222 Walnut Street, and is
the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Lehman Trucking & Excavating, Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa submitted a bid in
the amount of$28,630, in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 216-220 Commercial
Street, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Frickson Bros. Excavating submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said projects
with Resolution No. 2017-839, after public hearing on October 9, 2017 in conjunction with
asbestos abatement services at 222 Walnut Street, and
WHEREAS, Lehman Trucking&Excavating, Inc. submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said projects
with Resolution No. 2017-839, after public hearing on October 9, 2017 in conjunction with
asbestos abatement services at 216-220 Commercial Street.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Frickson Bros. Excavating in the amount of$38,000, in conjunction with
asbestos abatement services at 222 Walnut Street, is hereby awarded.
2. That the bid of Lehman Trucking & Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $28,630, in
conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 216-220 Commercial Street, is hereby awarded.
3. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Frickson Bros.
excavating , in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 222 Walnut Street are hereby
approved.
4. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Lehman Trucking &
Excavating, Inc., in conjunction with asbestos abatement Services at 216-220 Commercial Street,
are hereby approved.
5. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
