RESOLUTION NO. 2017-957
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO VIETH
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA
IN THE AMOUNT OF $134,353, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2018 LEVEE TREE
CLEARING CEDAR RIVER, CONTRACT NO. 938, AND
AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of$134,353, and is the apparent low bidder in conjunction with the FY 2018 Levee Tree
Clearing Cedar River, Contract No. 938, and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation submitted a written contract, bonds and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2017-914, after public hearing on November 6, 2017 in conjunction with the
FY 2018 Levee Tree Clearing Cedar River, Contract No. 938.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Vieth Construction, Corporation, in the amount of$134,353, in
conjunction with the FY 2018 Levee Tree Clearing Cedar River, Contract No. 938, is hereby
awarded.
2. That the contract, bonds and certificate of insurance submitted by Vieth
Construction Corporation, in conjunction with the FY 2018 Levee Tree Clearing Cedar River,
Contract No. 938, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of November 2017.
