RESOLUTION NO. 2017-974
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO RICKLEFS
EXCAVATING LTD. OF ANAMOSA, IA, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $693,700, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FOR THE FLOW
EQUALIZATION FACILITY OVERFLOW CONNECT TO
SATELLITE WPFC, CONTRACT NO. 880, AND AUTHORIZE
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Ricklefs Excavating Ltd. of Anamosa, IA, submitted a bid in the amount of
$693,700, and is the apparent low bidder in conjunction with the Flow Equalization Facility
Overflow Connect to Satellite WPFC, Contract No. 880, and
WHEREAS, Ricklefs Excavating Ltd. submitted a written contract, bonds and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2017-954, after public hearing on November 20, 2017 in conjunction with the

Flow Equalization Facility Overflow Connect to Satellite WPFC, Contract No. 880.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Ricklefs Excavating Ltd. in the amount of $693,700, in
conjunction with the Flow Equalization Facility Overflow Connect to Satellite WPFC, Contract
No. 880, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract bonds and certificate of insurance submitted by Ricklefs

Excavating Ltd. in conjunction with the Flow Equalization Facility Overflow Connect to Satellite
WPFC, Contract No. 880, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
