Members present: Chairperson Welper, Jacobs, Morrissey, Powers, Lind, Amos, and Schmitt.
Moved by Schmitt seconded by Amos that the Agenda, as amended, adding "in the event the
position becomes available" after the word Technician, be approved. Voice -vote Ayes: Five.
Motion carried.
Moved by Morrissey seconded by Powers that request from the Chief of Police for authorization
to start the process to create a Civil Service list for the position of Property Evidence Technician
in the event the position becomes available, and make appointment from said list, be approved.
Roll call vote Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
Moved by Morrissey seconded by Amos that request from Waste Management Services Director
for authorization to begin the recruiting process for the Administrative Secretary position and to
make an appointment, be approved. Roll call vote Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
Mr. Schmitt questioned if an Administrative Secretary has been hired previously.
Steve Hoambrecker, Waste Management Services Director, explained that this is a replacement
for an employee that has worked at the city for over 30 years.
Mr. Schmitt questioned if the position could be merged with another position.
Steve Hoambrecker explained that a Clerk II filled in while the Administrative Secretary was out
for surgery and it was difficult to complete both duties.
Moved by Amos seconded by Morrissey that request from Waste Management Services Director
to initiate the Civil Service process for the position of CMOM Technician and to make an
appointment from said list, be approved. Roll call vote Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the positions and roles within the CMOM program.
Steve Hoambrecker provided an overview of the positions that comprise the program.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Morrissey seconded by Amos
that the meeting be adjourned at 4:58 p.m. Voice -vote Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
