Members present: Morrissey, Schmitt, and Welper.
Moved by Welper seconded by Morrissey that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Voice -
vote Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Morrissey seconded by Welper that the sale and conveyance of City owned Lot at
809-811 E 4th Street to the Boys & Girls Club of the Cedar Valley, be approved. Voice vote -
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director, provided an overview of the
request.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the historic value of the building.
Noel Anderson commented that the structures would not have historical value.
Mr. Amos questioned if the owner of the adjacent building was interested in selling.
Chuck Rowe, 159 Graceline, commented that they worked with the owner to purchase the
building on contract.
Discussion of requests for proposals for the Public Market.
Noel Anderson provided an overview of the request for proposals for leasing the Public Market.
Mr. Morrissey commented that this has been on the agenda since last Thursday and commented
that documents like this need to be provided to council sooner.
Noel Anderson commented that they would like council input prior to sending this out to the
public.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the type of businesses that would be given preference.
Noel Anderson explained the preference would be businesses that would be open past 5:00 p.m.
and weekends.
Mr. Jacobs questioned if access will be provided around the property.
Noel Anderson explained what property will be available to the lease.
Mr. Morrissey questioned if the property is in the Main Street Design Review Area.
Noel Anderson confirmed.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Welper seconded by Morrissey
that the meeting be adjourned at 5:10 p.m. Voice -vote Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
