HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/26/1989May 26, 1989 The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Special Session at City Hall in the Mayor's Conference Room, Waterloo, Iowa, at 10:30 a.m. on May 26, 1989. Mayor Bernard L. McKinley in the Chair. Roll Call: Dell, Fox, Angel, Buck. Absent: Wright, Budak, Brown. 93962 - Moved by Dell, seconded by Angel that copies of the call of the Special Session of May 26, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. be received and placed on file. Motion carried. 93963 - Moved by Buck, seconded by Dell that the Agenda, as amended, for the Special Session on May 26, 1989 at 10:30 a.m., be accepted and approved. Motion carried. RESOLUTIONS TO BE ADOPTED 93964 - Moved by Fox, seconded by Buck that "Resolution fixing date of hearing as June 12, 1989 on the proposition to issue $4,470,000 in General Obligation Bonds for street related purposes", be adopted and Clerk/Auditor instructed to publish notice of same. Ayes: Four. Absent: Wright, Budak, Brown. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned No. 1989-252. 93965 - Moved by Fox, seconded by Buck that "Resolution fixing date of hearing as June 12, 1989 on the proposition to issue $150,000 in General Obligation Bonds for Convention Center and Central Garage improvements", be adopted and Clerk/Auditor instructed to publish notice of same. Ayes: Four. Absent: Wright, Budak, Brown. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned No. 1989-253. 93966 - Moved by Fox, seconded by Buck that "Resolution fixing date of hearing as June 12, 1989 on the proposition to issue $145,000 in General Obligation Bonds for Recreation Center Wing", be adopted and Clerk/Auditor instructed to publish notice of same. Ayes: Four. Absent: Wright, Budak, Brown. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned NO. 1989-254. 93967 - Moved by Fox, seconded by Buck that "Resolution fixing date of hearing as June 12, 1989 on the proposition to issue $135,000 in General Obligation Bonds for Old East Side Library and Municipal Stadium Improvements", be adopted and Clerk/Auditor instructed to publish notice of same. Ayes: Four. Absent: Wright, Budak, Brown. Resolution adopted and upon approval by Mayor assigned NO. 1989-255. MISCELLANEOUS 93968 - Moved by Dell, seconded by Angel that the following applications for temporary beer garden and permanent outdoor cafe be received, placed on file and approved: Application for Temporary Beer Garden Stoney's Pub & Deli, 185 West 4th Street (1 day --6/2/89) Mark Lemon Golf Enterprises, Inc., Byrnes Park Golf Course (1 day --6/3/89) in conjunction with My Waterloo Days Hot Air Balloon Rally Application for Permanent Outdoor Cafe North Bank Cafe, 722 Water Street (5/23/89-11/3/89) Motion carried.
