Special Council Meeting
City Council Chambers
4:30 p.m.
Roll call: Getty, Lichty, Penaluna, Klinger, Dowie, Seeber,
Wright. Mayor Bowers in the Chair.
87210 - Moved by Wright, seconded by Seeber to receive and place on file
the calls of the Special Council Meeting. Motion carried.
87211 - Moved by Seeber, seconded by Getty to approve the Agenda as
proposed. Motion carried.
87212 - W. David Tyler, City Attorney, presented to the Council a
Loan/Agreement between the City of Waterloo and the Employees
Committee to reorganize the Rath Packing Company and asked for any
comments regarding the Agreement.
Moved by Seeber, seconded by Getty to receive and file the proposed
Loan/Agreement presented by City Attorney Dave Tyler. Motion
carried.
87213 - Jerry N. Burns of G.N.B. Investment Bankers requested that the
Council adjourn to Executive Session to discuss the financing
for the Employees Ccenittee to reorganize the Rath Packing Company.
Councilperson Harold Getty asked City Attorney W. David Tyler if the
Council could legally go into an Executive Session as requested.
Tyler responded that it was authorized under the Iowa Code Section
28A. 5(1) (c).
Moved by Getty, seconded by Wright that the Council meet in Executive
Session to discuss the the Reorganization Proposal from the
Employee's Committee to reorganize the Rath Packing Company. Ayes:
Seven.
Motion carried.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
87214 - Moved by Getty, seconded by Lichty that the Council adjourn the
Executive Session. Ayes: Seven.
Motion carried.
87215 - Moved by Getty, seconded by Lichty that the Council adjourn.
Motion carried.
