The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Regular Session at City Hall Council
Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa, at 7:00 p.m., on October 7, 1991. Mayor Bernard L. McKinley
in the Chair. Roll Call: Dell, Fox, Angel, Buck, Wright, Budak, Brown.

Mayor Bernie McKinley read a proclamation proclaiming the week of October 6-12, 1991 as
Fire Prevention Week. Said proclamation was presented to Fire Chief Stan Stapella.

98380 - Warren Woods, 626 Baltimore Street and speaking on behalf of his mother
residing at 1338 Lafayette Street, reported that he was willing to move forward
with negotiations following a telephone conversation with city staff today. He
asked that the city consider delaying action on condemnation proceedings and
allow for the negotiations.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
98389 - Eddie Denton, 115 Main Street, Cedar Falls, asked the status of his beer
and wine license application for his store located at 1027 East Fourth Street.
City staff stated that they would check and report back to Mr. Denton.
Elaine Jacquith spoke against salary increases for City Council Members. She
stated that School Board Members receive no compensation for their services.
Al Manning, 919 Fairview Avenue, stated that the Mayor's salary should be
frozen at the current level. He stated that substantial increases have been
given to the Mayor over the past several years which should be adequate. He
stated that citizens in the community are making less money than the raises
the Mayor has seen in the last several years.
