COUNCIL WORK SESSION
November 3, 1994
4:00 p.m.
Council Chambers
Members present: Mayor Rooff, Jordan, Collier, Krizek, Mollenhoff,
Anders, Murphy, Getty.
Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Krizek that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
Leap to the Future Economic Development strategies were reviewed
for the council. Areas of responsibility for the City of Waterloo
and Cedar Valley Partnership were outlined. The need for the City
of Waterloo to update the pollution control plant, street and
highway system and waste disposal system was emphasized. These
processes must be completed to assist in attracting new businesses
to the area. The strategies that the Chamber of Commerce is
attempting to accomplish were explained. Updating the
accomplishments section was suggested to emphasize the growth of
new business and the amount of infrastructure improvements being
made.
Agenda items for the council meeting to be held on Monday, November
7, 1994 were reviewed and discussed with representatives from
departments that had items on the agenda.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by
Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that the meeting be adjourned at
6:00 p.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
