Members present: Mayor Rooff, Getty, Mollenhoff, Murphy, Jordan.
Members absent: Anders, Collier, Krizek.
Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Murphy that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Ayes: Four. Absent: Anders, Collier,
Krizek. Motion carried.
Agenda items for the council meeting to be held on Tuesday, July 5,
1994, were reviewed and discussed with representatives from
departments who had items on the agenda.
Fire Chief Frank Magsamen reviewed changes to the life safety and
rental inspection codes. An ordinance will be drafted for council
approval.
An agreement between the City of Waterloo and The Energy Group
(TEG) was discussed. The Energy Group will provide professional
management services to help increase energy efficiency within city
facilities. Replacement of the roof at Fire Station ##4 was
reviewed as to whether said improvement would fall under said
agreement.
The northwest interceptor and existing plant improvements for Water
Pollution Control Plant were reviewed. Councilpersons Anders,
Jordan, Murphy and Collier will be reviewing the improvements with
representatives from RUST as the they proceed with the project.
A committee has been formed to review the future of the Riverview
area with the following persons as members: City Engineer Eric
Thorson, Fire Chief Frank Magsamen, Police Chief Bernie Koehrsen,
Superintendent of Water Pollution Control Gary Simmons,
Superintendent of Streets Dick Grimm, Parks Superintendent Paul
Huting, Recreation Director Tom Reardon, City Planner Don Temeyer,
Councilperson Harold Getty, Human Rights Commissioner Gail Quirk,
Administrative Director Bob Stevenson, and Jerry Springer from
Hank's Bait Shop.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty,
seconded by Jordan that the meeting be adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
Ayes: Four. Absent: Anders, Collier, Krizek. Motion carried.
