Moved by Krizek, seconded by Collier that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Mollenhoff. Motion carried. Eric Thorson discussed the 1995 Street Replacement Program. He passed out a list of possible streets for improvements in 1995, which include Parker Street, West 3rd Street, Downing Avenue and Falls Avenue. These four streets were included because they were streets that were the consensus from the council members at a previous work session. Mr. Thorson stated the survey crew has all the work almost done on Parker and would like one other street to be selected this evening. Councilpersons Anders, Collier, Getty and Krizek have submitted their lists. Mr. Thorson has broken the streets submitted to him into three categories: overlay, reconstruction and oiling. Councilman Anders indicated that the list not be in alphabetical sequence. He would like to see the streets broken down by the five wards and then alphabetized. Mr. Thorson said he would provide this list of street improvements by wards. Mr. Thorson is to check with Mark Boesen to see if there is any Community Development Block Grant money available for these 1995 street improvements. Fire Chief Frank Magsamen discussed the prepared 28E Agreement to form the Northeast Iowa Response Group (NIRG) which consists of eight counties in Northeast Iowa. The agreement states the Waterloo Fire Rescue will provide assistance to the eight counties by supplying support personnel and equipment in case of a hazardous substance emergency creating a hazardous condition or causing harm or threatening immediate harm.
