HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/09/94CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION June 9, 1994 4:00 p.m. First Floor Conference Room Roll call: Mayor Rooff, Anders, Krizek, Jordan, Murphy. Members absent: Getty, Collier and Mollenhoff. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Anders that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Four. Absent: Getty, Collier and Mollenhoff. Motion carried. Agenda items for the council meeting to be held on Monday, June 13, 1994, were reviewed and discussed with representatives from departments who had items on the agenda. Discussion was held in regards to adopting a "Consent Agenda". It is an agenda of items that no one should ever have any reason to object to, but everyone has the right to. It is a tool of getting away with the working things that everyone says, "I don't care about" but you would still need discussion about. A council member, staff member or citizen can ask it be removed from the consent agenda and discussed. If pulled it would be voted on separately otherwise when the Mayor calls for the consent agenda it would be passed for all items not pulled. Some examples of items to be included are beer and liquor licenses, driveway waivers, travel requests, appointments, bonds, etc. City Attorney Jim Walsh will research this and get back to the City Clerk on how to initiate the procedure. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Murphy that the meeting be adjourned at 4:48 p.m. Tom Campbell Acting Clerk/Auditor
