The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Regular Session at City Hall Council

Mayor Rooff presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Martin Kunz in recognition of
30 years of valuable and dedicated service to the community.
Mayor Rooff read a Proclamation declaring the week of May 8-14, 1994 as School Board
Member Recognition Week.

Mayor Rooff personally and on behalf of the City Council thanked the fifteen Waterloo
fire volunteers, who on Saturday washed down Fourth Street and cleaned out the
pedestrian walkway over the river. He said the city owes a debt of gratitude to the
people working for the city who are willing to take their own time to volunteer
because they want to make this a better place to live and work.

with RUST Environment and Infrastructure to provide the plans and profiles and
technical specifications for the Donald Street Drainage Outlet project to be paid
from the Supplemental Appropriation of Community Development Block Grant Funds for
Disaster Recovery Assistance, together with recommendation of approval, be received,
placed on file and "Resolution approving said agreement", be adopted and Mayor

102878 - Councilperson Anders reported he and Councilperson Mollenhoff and City Planner Don
Temeyer met with the owner of the Chain of Lakes Marina and the Cedar Falls Utilities
in regard to relocating the overhead power lines currently preventing opening of the
Marina. He said they negotiated a deal calling for the Cedar Falls Utilities to pay
half of the estimated $10,000.00, while the City of Waterloo and the Chain of Lakes
Marina will split the remaining half. The City will return the $1,800 paid by the
Marina to buy the land and will pick up the balance of $500-$700 from the Highway 218
Corridor Reconstruction project. He stated he feels this is just a good faith effort
to work with the business and does not feel it will be precedent setting by any
means.
