Hearings and Bids - continued
Fire Chief Masgamen responded to Mr. Grimm's letter by stating that the initial
grant received from the Federal government didn't provide enough funding to repair
the roof as needed so a second application was prepared to receive additional
funding to cover Phase II and III of the project. There are no remaining funds from
the original grant and that account has been closed. The match for the grant has
been met through the purchase of land, buildings and equipment located at the
training center site. No full time fire station has been established at the
training center site although the apparatus floor has been prepared and equipment
is stored there if needed for training purposes. The vinyl clad fencing erected at
the training center was excess fencing from parks refurbishing and did not involve
excess spending.
