The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in Regular Session in Council
Chambers in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M., on April 7, 1980. Mayor Rooff in the
Chair. On roll call: Present: Bowers, Burton, Dowie, Getty, Penaluna, Roehr,
Wilharm. Absent:None. Invocation by Councilman Wilharm.
78222 - Moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm that the Agenda, as amended, for
the Regular Session of April 7, 1980 at 7:00 P.M., be accepted and
approved. Motion carried.
78223 - Moved by Burton, seconded by Bowers that the Minutes of the Regular
Session held March 24, 1980 at 7:00 P.M. be approved. Motion carried.
78224 - Moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm that proof of publication of notice
of hearing on the request of Lloyd R. Marlatt, on the proposal to vacate
the 50 -foot right-of-way of Ogden Street described as the west one-half
of that portion of Ogden Avenue described as lying north of the north-
erly right-of-way line of Fulton Street and South of the southerly right-
of-way line of Ann Street, located in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa and request of Ronald L. and Charlene Ohrt for vacation,
sale and conveyance of 50 -foot right-of-way of Ogden Street described
as the east one-half of that portion of Ogden Avenue described as lying
north of the northerly right-of-way line of Fulton Street and south of
the southerly right-of-way line of Ann Street, located in the City of
Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa for $700.00 each plus costs as pub-

way line of Fulton Street and south of the southerly right-of-way line
of Ann Street, located in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa",

of Intention to Issue Industrial Development Revenue Bonds Series 1980
(Hellman Design Associates Project) Not to Exceed $1,000,000 in the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, as published in the Waterloo Courier on March 14,
1980, be received and placed on file. Motion carried.

78238 — Moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers that communication from Community
Development Board, transmitting an Offer of Sale to the City of Water-
loo from Larry Ernst, a portion of the property located on Shaulis Road
(the north 17 feet of the south 50 feet in even width legally described
on attached Exhibit) for the sum of $150.00 for the construction of
right-of-way for paving of Shaulis Road and recommending approval, be
received, placed on file and "A Resolution accepting and approving cer-
tain offers to sell real property to the City and accepting and approv-
ing certain deeds", adopted. Ayes: Seven. Resolution adopted and up-

78239 - Moved by Burton, seconded by Bowers that the following petitions for
street paving be received, placed on file and referred to City Engineer.
1. Petition from propety owners adjacent to Oneida Street
from Beech Street to Linden Avenue requesting to have
Oneida Street paved from Beech Street to Linden Avenue
with part of Block Grant funds.
2. Petition from property owners of Monroe Street request-
ing to have the 300 block of Monroe Street paved under
the Community Development Block Grant Program, to be
included in a paving program when funds become available.
3. Petition from property owners of Stratford Avenue request-
ing to have the 1000, 1100, 1200 blocks of Stratford Ave-
nue paved under the Community Development Block Grant
Program, to be included in a paving program when funds
become available.
4. Petition form Doyle R. Miller indicating verbal agreement
of George Diestelmeier and Robert Stamp for paving of 300
block of Monroe Street.

loo for sale of parcel of property currently owned by the City of Water-
loo, as shown on attached plat and legally described in Exhibit "A" and
recommending approval, be received, placed on file, and "Resolution fix-
ing the time and place of hearing and receiving of bids as April 28,
1980 at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers on proposal to sell certain pro-
perty in Rooff's Addition with minimum bid of $14,260, adopted and Clerk
instructed to publish notice of hearing. Ayes: Seven. Resolution adop-
ted and upon approval by Mayor, assigned No. 26912.

of Donald and Alice Cox for vacation, sale and conveyance of portion of
Ralph Road with sale of westerly twenty (20) feet of requested vacation

(10) feet of requested vacation to Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Hamlett for $180.00

partment of Transportation transmitting Agreement No. 80-N-003 to let
an Asphaltic Concrete resurfacing project on Primary Road No. U.S. 20
on May 20, 1980. Project costs will be paid from the Primary Road
Fund and no charges will be made against the City, be received and
placed on file. Motion carried.
