SPECIAL SESSION
June 27, 1973 - 5:00 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Special Session in the
City Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City at 5:00 o'clock P.M. on
June 27, 1973, pursuant to the following call:
TO: CITY COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA
You are hereby notified that a Special Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, will be held at the Council Chambers
in the City Hall in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, at 5:00 o'clock P.M.
on Wednesday, June 27, 1973, and that said Special Meeting is being
called for the purpose of considering
(1) Authorization of the sale of Beer and Liquor on Sunday,
(2) Individual applications for Sunday Beer and Liquor Licenses.
You arefurther notified that no other business except the above will
be transmitted at said Meeting.

Due, timely and legal service of the above notice is hereby accepted this 25th
day of June, 1973 by me, a duly elected, qualified and acting Councilman of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.

Moved by Cohea, seconded by Miller that the Copies of the Call for the
Special Meeting of June 27, 1973 at 5:00 o'clock P.M., be received and
placed on file.
Motion carried.
64073 - Councilman Dykeman presented to the Council an objection and rationale
questionnaire from Rev. Gerald LaMotte of Grace United Methodist Church
to the sale of Liquor on Sunday.
Moved by Keller, seconded by Miller that the above objection and ques-
tionnaire be received, placed on file and Resolution No. 22656, a reso-
lution authorizing sale of alcoholic beverages and beer on Sunday by cer-
tain license and permit holders, be adopted.
On roll call, Cavanaugh, Dykeman, Keller, Mabrey and Miller voted Aye.
Nay: Cohea. Absent: Morrissey. Mayor declared the resolution adopted.
64074 Moved by Miller, seconded by Cavanaugh that the following applications
and fees for Sunday Sales Permits in conjunction with existing Class "B"
Beer Permits at the locations designated in the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
be, and the same are hereby approved for the issuance of Sunday Sales
Permits, that the approval be endorsed on the applications and forwarded
to the Iowa Beer and Liquor Control Department with ceritified fee re-
ceipts, duplicate copies of the applications, be received, placed on file,
and Resolution No. 22657, approving the applications, be adopted.
