The agenda, as proposed, was approved.
The F.Y. 1991 Citizens Budget Review Committee report was
presented by members of the Committee, including Orlando
Dial, Ruth Fairbanks, Marquita Hoskins, Mike McRoberts and
Brent Rahn. The report contains a general statement of
recommendations including the need for long range fiscal
planning, the need to seek outside dollars to supplement the
City budget, urging of continual efforts to consolidate City
operations with the County and the City of Cedar Falls,
continuing review of management level salaries, employee
involvement, and support of the local option sales tax with
certain restrictions. Written comments were reviewed for
the following City departments: Police, Fire, Public Works,
Parks, Planning and Development Division, City Attorney,
Library, Recreation and Arts Center, Community Development,
Human Rights Commission and Airport. A copy of the specific
recommendations are available in the Clerk/Auditor's office.
In addition, staff recommendations for levels of funding
were presented. The City Council will conduct a Budget Work
Session on Monday, February 26th, at 3:45 p.m. in the Large
Conference Room of City Hall.
With no further business before the Council, the meeting was
adjourned.
