HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/11/91CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION February 11, 1991 5:30 p.m. Large Conference Room Members present: Brown, Budak, Dell. It was moved by Angel, seconded proposed. Motion carried. Angel, Buck, Wright, Fox and by Budak that the Agenda, as Discussion on the Regional Transit Commission (RTC) funding was heard. Sharon Juon, Director of INRCOG, presented to the Council a summary of the incomes and expenses facing the Regional Transit Authority for the current year and the upcoming year. Juon stated that the Regional Transit Authority would have to cut back approximately 50 percent in order to stay in operation for the rest of the current fiscal year. Fox now present at 6:35 p.m. She stated that she would be coming to the Council meeting on Monday, February 18th, requesting a loan guarantee by the City of Waterloo for operations of not to exceed $100,000 in the MET Transit Board. She stated that there would be a public hearing regarding service cuts on Tuesday, February 19th, at 2:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. Juon continued that she is presently working with the City of Waterloo, City of Cedar Falls, H.V.A.A.A. and MET Transit in formulating levels of service and funding proposals for the next fiscal year. Discussion followed regarding types of service offered to both handicapped individuals and elderly. The loan guarantee for the Regional Transit Commission will appear on the February 18, 1991, Council Agenda for approval. With no further business the Work Session the meeting was adjourned. Larry P.
